NR-9500 PRIMER
| Product Description |
|
A 2-part polymeric resinous based adhesive for the bonding of the Normac series of sprayable urethanes, castables and trowelable putty systems to ferrous and non-ferrous metals. This adhesive when applied to freshly blasted metal substrates exhibits excellent adhesion for parts to be coated with spray or cast urethanes. |

| Application |
| Normac NR-9500 must be thoroughly mixed before use at 3 Parts "A" to 1 Part "B" ratio (by weight). Allow to stand for 5 minutes after mixing. Brush, roller or spraying on degreased grit blasted metal (minimum anchor pattern 50 microns) to a minimum thickness of 12.5 microns to a maximum 25 microns. Allow to dry a minimum of 1 hour to a maximum of twelve (12) hours when applying 100% solids sprayable urethane/polyurea. If the drying time is exceeded refresh with Ethyl Methyl Ketone prior to application of coating material. Apply coating material within 30 minutes of refreshing. For solvent sprayable urethanes, allow 1 hour to a maximum of 12 hours before application. If the drying time is exceeded refresh with Ethyl Methyl Ketone prior to application of coating material. Apply coating within 30 minutes of refreshing. For castable urethanes allow 1 hour minimum drying time to a maximum of 8 hours for casting operations. Should you exceed the 8 hours, refresh the primed surface with Ethyl Methyl Ketone only. Allow solvent to evaporate. Perform the casting operation within 30 minutes of refreshing. For spray application of NR-9500 use a .017” tip with a 4 to 6” fan and dilute as per below. For rolling or brushing dilution is not required but can be used. Flash Rust: NR-9500 will adhere to flash rust or bloom on freshly blasted surfaces. |
| Dilution |
| Dilute with Ethyl Methyl Ketone (MEK) only at the rate of 3 parts mixed primer to 1 part solvent for spray applications to a maximum of equal parts of both mixed primer and Ethyl Methyl Ketone (MEK). |
| Coverage |
| 16.3m2 per kg. @ 25 microns (80 ft.2 per lb. at .001") DFT theoretical. |
